Why Choose the Job Offer Stream?

  1. Ontario is home to a thriving economy, world-class education, and vibrant communities. By securing a job offer from an Ontario employer, you can leverage the Job Offer Stream to fast-track your journey to becoming a permanent resident of Canada. This stream is ideal for those with specific skills and experience that are in demand in Ontario’s labor market.

Eligibility Criteria

  • To qualify for the Job Offer Stream, you must meet the following criteria:

    1. Valid Job Offer
      • You must have a full-time and permanent job offer from an Ontario employer in an eligible occupation (National Occupational Classification [NOC] codes 0, A, or B).
      • The job offer must meet the median wage level for that occupation in Ontario and must be necessary to the employer’s business.
    2. Work Experience
      • You should have relevant work experience in the same occupation as your job offer, or be licensed in Ontario if the job requires a license.
    3. Intention to Reside in Ontario
      • You must demonstrate a genuine intention to reside in Ontario, supported by ties to the province such as previous work experience, education, or family connections.
    4. Employer Requirements
      • The Ontario employer making the job offer must meet specific criteria, including being actively involved in the business for at least three years and adhering to Ontario employment standards.
      • The employer must also demonstrate that they were unable to find a suitable Canadian citizen or permanent resident for the position before offering it to a foreign national.
    5. Education and Language Skills
      • While there are no mandatory educational or language requirements for this stream, having a strong educational background and proficiency in English or French can enhance your application.

Application Process

  1. Expression of Interest (EOI)
    • Begin by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the OINP e-Filing Portal. This indicates your interest in the program and provides details about your qualifications, job offer, and work experience.
  2. Invitation to Apply (ITA)
    • If your EOI is selected, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the Job Offer Stream. At this stage, you will need to submit a complete application with all required documentation.
  3. Nomination by Ontario
    • Once your application is approved, you will be nominated by the province of Ontario. This nomination allows you to apply for permanent residence through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
  4. Permanent Residence Application
    • After receiving your nomination, you can submit your application for permanent residence to IRCC. With a provincial nomination, your application will be prioritized for processing.
