Master Graduate Stream
Master Graduate Stream
Why Choose Ontario?
Ontario is one of Canada’s most dynamic provinces, known for its thriving economy, world-class educational institutions, and diverse culture. As a master’s graduate, you are well-positioned to contribute to and benefit from Ontario’s vibrant job market. The Master’s Graduate Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) offers an excellent pathway to permanent residency for international students who have completed their master’s degree in Ontario.
What is the Master’s Graduate Stream?
The Master’s Graduate Stream under OINP is designed specifically for international students who have earned a master’s degree from an eligible Ontario university. This program allows graduates to apply for a provincial nomination, which can then be used to apply for permanent residency in Canada through the federal Express Entry system.
This stream is ideal for graduates who wish to live and work in Ontario permanently, taking advantage of the province’s robust economy and numerous professional opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Master’s Graduate Stream, you must meet the following criteria:

- Current Residency: You must be living in Ontario at the time of your application.
- Intention to Reside: You must demonstrate your intention to reside and work in Ontario after obtaining permanent residency.

Application Process
The application process for the Master’s Graduate Stream is streamlined and efficient, helping you secure your future in Ontario with ease:
- Expression of Interest (EOI): Start by submitting an Expression of Interest to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. This allows Ontario to assess your eligibility and invite you to apply for nomination.
- Invitation to Apply: If selected, you will receive an invitation to submit a complete application for provincial nomination.
- Submit Your Application: Complete and submit your application online through the OINP e-Filing Portal. Be sure to provide all required documents, including proof of your degree, language test results, and settlement funds.
- Nomination: Upon successful assessment, you will receive a nomination from the province of Ontario. This nomination significantly increases your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residency through Express Entry.
- Apply for Permanent Residency: With your provincial nomination in hand, apply for permanent residency through the federal Express Entry system. The provincial nomination awards you additional points, making you a strong candidate for selection.
